International Day of Books - 27th July 2008

Are you a Not Yet Famous, Unpublished Author? Would you like 2008 to be the year that your name gets into print? Are you slightly mad and want to commit to doing something that will take up lots of time and effort? Then INTERNATIONAL DAY OF BOOKS is perfect for you! What you need to know -

1. Write a complete short book/novella of no less than 12,000 words and no more than 15,000 words. It can be in any style or genre but has to be in English (I have nothing against other languages, but if you want me to help you publish it then I have to be able to read it!)

2. Finish your book by July 1st at the latest

3. Publicise INTERNATIONAL DAY OF BOOKS in your area/country by doing as little as telling your friends and family about it or as much as contacting local press and media agencies.

4. Organise a book launch for ALL the INTERNATIONAL DAY OF BOOKS books on JULY 27th 2008. Your book launch can take place in your own home or in as fancy a venue as you can find (or afford). The aim is to bring as much attention to the hardworking authors and their precious works as possible. After the book launch it is up to you whether you approach book shops, libraries, schools etc in your area for retail potential and/or book signings, etc.

5. Bask in the glory of your publication success
